We offer TECHNALOCK plates that come drilled for use with one-way screws when mounting things to wooden surfaces, such as shelves etc. We've even had customers use these special plates to attach things to concrete.

I was wondering if I could use the screws and plate to secure a plasma tv or something along those lines to a wall?
These plates come in handy when you need to attach tv's etc to things like walls. You just need to make sure you are mounting into solid wood. These plates can even come with longer screws than what you see here, if needed.
